The Cinder Whelp is a fire dragon hatchling born in the ashes of Lorencia em Brasa, the scorched land that bears the walled city's name. The eggs of this brood hatch in the heat of embers that never cool, and the young come out already spitting sparks and looking for a fight.

It fights up close, biting and clawing with a ferocity far larger than its size. Alone it is little threat, but the whelps travel together and arrive in flocks, and the heat they give off adds up to a furnace around the hero.
