Battle Scepter is weapon 1 of 23 for the Dark Lord, and it drops in Lorencia, Noria.
Lore
The Battle Scepter is the Dark Lord's first scepter: a short iron mace with a crown-shaped head, which the commanders of Lorencia's wall used to point out orders and, when needed, to strike. It is more a symbol of leadership than a refined weapon.
In the hands of a young Dark Lord, it teaches that commanding also means standing on the front line. It usually turns up among the hordes of Lorencia's fields and the woods of Noria.
Where Battle Scepter drops
The same item drops on Hard and Hardcore as Nightmare (+40% to flat attributes and +30% to % bonuses). On Hardcore, very rarely, it comes as Godlike (+80%) by letter.

Forging and refining
At the Blacksmith, Upgrade tab, the item goes from +0 to +6 with Jewel of Bless (PT) (always succeeds) and from +6 to +15 with Jewel of Soul (the chance drops at each level; on failure it loses 1 level, never below +6). Each + multiplies the whole piece (+15 makes it 3.23 times stronger). From +16 to +25 is the Ancestral Upgrade (PT), which burns Ancient items. In the Migrate tab, the whole + carries over to the Nightmare or Godlike version of the same item.
