Lore
The Golden Crossbow is a gold-plated crossbow made for the nobles of an old kingdom who hunted for sport. The luxury hid a serious weapon: its inner workings were so finely fitted that it almost never jammed.
Today the gold is scratched and worn, but the Archer who carries it can still feel its precision. It falls from Captin Grizzly, boss of Elbeland, and from the creatures of the frozen lands of Devias.
Where Golden Crossbow drops
The same item drops on Hard and Hardcore as Nightmare (+40% to flat attributes and +30% to % bonuses). On Hardcore, very rarely, it comes as Godlike (+80%) by letter.

Forging and refining
At the Blacksmith, Upgrade tab, the item goes from +0 to +6 with Jewel of Bless (PT) (always succeeds) and from +6 to +15 with Jewel of Soul (the chance drops at each level; on failure it loses 1 level, never below +6). Each + multiplies the whole piece (+15 makes it 3.23 times stronger). From +16 to +25 is the Ancestral Upgrade (PT), which burns Ancient items. In the Migrate tab, the whole + carries over to the Nightmare or Godlike version of the same item.
