Monster
Swamp Wizard
Swamp Wizard is a monster of the magic type found in Swamp of Darkness.
Lore
The Swamp Wizard is a sorcerer who took refuge in the Swamp of Darkness to serve the dark entity dwelling at the heart of the bog. Dressed in sodden, moss-covered robes, he traded his own name for promises whispered in the fog.
He fights from afar, conjuring bubbles of poisonous sludge and bolts of greenish light from his staff. He keeps to the highest ground in the swamp while the creatures of wood and mud guard the path to him. By the time the hero finally reaches him, the sorcerer has already readied his next curse.

On Hard items drop as Nightmare (+40% to flat attributes and +30% to % bonuses); on Hardcore they also drop as Nightmare, and once in a while, very rarely, a Godlike (+80%) comes, delivered by letter.
Special enemies pay more: the Elite drops an item 38% of the time, the Champion 70% and the Ancient Monster 100%; Champion and Ancient Monster raise the item's rarity by 1 level. The jewel chance is 2× on the Elite, 4× on the Champion and 8× on the Ancient Monster. Each Reset also raises the jewel chance a little. See Special enemies (PT).
