Lore
The Chaos Dragon Axe is a war axe whose head was carved from the scale of a black dragon, so hard no whetstone can scratch it. No one knows who slew the dragon; all anyone knows is that the axe existed before the kingdoms did.
Axe though it is, it found its way into the Warrior's arsenal, trading the sword's elegance for raw strength. It usually falls from Erohim, boss of the Land of Trials, and from the hordes that surround Crywolf.

The same item drops on Hard and Hardcore as Nightmare (+40% to flat attributes and +30% to % bonuses). On Hardcore, very rarely, it comes as Godlike (+80%) by letter.

Forging and refining
At the Blacksmith, Upgrade tab, the item goes from +0 to +6 with Jewel of Bless (PT) (always succeeds) and from +6 to +15 with Jewel of Soul (the chance drops at each level; on failure it loses 1 level, never below +6). Each + multiplies the whole piece (+15 makes it 3.23 times stronger). From +16 to +25 is the Ancestral Upgrade (PT), which burns Ancient items. In the Migrate tab, the whole + carries over to the Nightmare or Godlike version of the same item.
