Monster
Tantalos
Tantalos is a monster of the melee type found in Tarkan.
Lore
The Tantalos is a grey-skinned giant warrior, the last descendant of a race that guarded the temples of Tarkan. Legend says his people were condemned to watch over treasures they could never touch; the rotten mana turned that endless waiting into pure rage.
He fights in melee with a blade as wide as a door, swinging in arcs that sweep everything around him. He is slow to get going, but hard to stop once he gains momentum. Every swing kicks up sand and dust, and adventurers learn to use that cloud to slip away from the next arc and strike back from the side the blade cannot reach.

On Hard items drop as Nightmare (+40% to flat attributes and +30% to % bonuses); on Hardcore they also drop as Nightmare, and once in a while, very rarely, a Godlike (+80%) comes, delivered by letter.
Special enemies pay more: the Elite drops an item 38% of the time, the Champion 70% and the Ancient Monster 100%; Champion and Ancient Monster raise the item's rarity by 1 level. The jewel chance is 2× on the Elite, 4× on the Champion and 8× on the Ancient Monster. Each Reset also raises the jewel chance a little. See Special enemies (PT).
