Monster
Infernal Aegis
Infernal Aegis is a monster of the melee type found in Kalima 4.
Lore
The Infernal Aegis is a shield-bearer of Kundun forged in the furnaces of Kalima 4. Its tower shield was fused to its own arm, and the metal still glows red from within, like an ember that never dies. Wherever it steps, the stone darkens and smokes.
It holds the front line and fights in close combat, using the shield as a weapon: bashing, shoving and pinning the hero against the scorching ground. It is slow to fall and patient, because it knows that while it holds the passage, the rest of the horde is closing in from behind.

On Hard items drop as Nightmare (+40% to flat attributes and +30% to % bonuses); on Hardcore they also drop as Nightmare, and once in a while, very rarely, a Godlike (+80%) comes, delivered by letter.
Special enemies pay more: the Elite drops an item 38% of the time, the Champion 70% and the Ancient Monster 100%; Champion and Ancient Monster raise the item's rarity by 1 level. The jewel chance is 2× on the Elite, 4× on the Champion and 8× on the Ancient Monster. Each Reset also raises the jewel chance a little. See Special enemies (PT).
