Area 44
Kanturu Underground
Kanturu Underground is area 44 of 51 in Continent of Legend. It requires level 260 • 2 resets, has 3 monster types and the boss Underground Dreadfear.
Lore
Kanturu Underground is the hidden labyrinth beneath the ruins of Kanturu, a network of tunnels, workshops and engine rooms that the old engineers kept secret from the rest of the world. Copper pipes, stalled gears and cracked glass capsules are everywhere, all bathed in a greenish glow that seems to come from nowhere. Not even the explorers who defeated the Nightmare knew this part existed.
Kanturu's engineers tried to build guardians out of their own dreams, using mana as the mold. After the Night of the Broken Seal, rotten mana seeped into the capsules and finished the work in a way nobody had planned. The creatures were born from the nightmares stored there, their shapes shifting with whoever looks at them. The engineers fled and sealed the entrance behind them.
Underground Persona wears masks that mimic the face of whoever fights it; Underground Twin Tale lashes out with two tails that move like whips; Underground Dreadfear is fear itself given a body. All of them fight up close in the cramped corridors. The largest Underground Dreadfear guards the central chamber, and when a hero hesitates it charges in with a Brutal Strike that echoes through every tunnel.
Monsters in Kanturu Underground

Special enemies pay more: the Elite drops an item 38% of the time, the Champion 70% and the Ancient Monster 100%; Champion and Ancient Monster raise the item's rarity by 1 level. The jewel chance is 2× on the Elite, 4× on the Champion and 8× on the Ancient Monster. Each Reset also raises the jewel chance a little. See Special enemies (PT).

Frequently asked questions
How do stages work?
Each map has 10 stages (the little bars on the area card). You advance by defeating the horde.
On stage 10 the map boss shows up by itself. Beat it with ADVANCE on and you move to the next map.
What are the Hard and Hardcore modes?
On the Map (🗺️ WORLD button) there are 3 cards at the top: NORMAL, HARD and HARDCORE. Tap a locked card to see what you still need to open it.
- HARD: opens at 10 resets. The same 51 maps, stronger, and every item that drops is Nightmare: the same item as in Normal with 30% more base stats (×1.3). If you die, you go back one map (from Hard 1, to Normal).
- HARDCORE: opens when you beat the Hard 51 boss (Hardcore 1 asks for 300 resets). Items drop as Nightmare and, very rarely, a Godlike comes: 70% more base stats (×1.7), delivered by letter. If you die, you go back one map.
- Each boss beaten in a mode opens the next map and gives a Mark (+0.3% against monsters).
- At the BLACKSMITH, Migrate tab, an item's whole + moves to the same Nightmare or Godlike item.
What is "After the boss"?
It's in BATTLE ORDERS, on the BATTLE screen, and decides what happens when the boss falls:
- ADVANCE: go to the next area (the default and recommended).
- REPEAT: redo the same area's route, good for farming.
I can't beat the boss. Now what?
- Spend all unused points (SEE DETAILS › ATTRIBUTES).
- Wear your best INVENTORY items and repair broken ones at the BLACKSMITH.
- Upgrade your skills (SEE DETAILS › SKILLS › UPGRADE).
- Refine your equipment at the BLACKSMITH.
- Lock an earlier stage and hunt for a while to level up.
